Dr. Annmarie Chizewski is the assistant director of experiential learning at UIC for the department of Kinesiology. She holds a PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where she conducted research on the effects of high intensity functional training on physical fitness and firefighter ability. Her goal is to provide students with real-world, hands-on experience in the field of kinesiology, and to prepare them for post-graduation life and the professional world. She oversees and coordinates various experiential learning opportunities, that equip students with the tools, skills, and knowledge they need to be confident and successful leaders in the field. Outside of the university, she is a strength and conditioning coach in Chicago. Dr. Chizewski aims to foster strength, confidence, and resilience in her students and athletes. She firmly believes movement and exercise can transform lives by improving health, happiness, and self-efficacy. Outside of work, you can often find Dr. Chizewski staying active and living a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
